Dos años de silencio siguieron al debut discográfico de los Chameleons, tiempo que aprovecharon para presentar su álbum de debut y para realizar dos sesiones más para el programa de John Peel. Son de estas dos últimas sesiones de donde surgen muchas de las canciones que conformarían What does anything mean? Basically, segundo trabajo de la banda repitiendo equipo productor y donde se profundiza en ese estilo personal apuntado en su anterior trabajo.
